HIV Testing Week runs from 1st – 7th June. Despite these challenging times and competing health issues, it is still important to look after your sexual health.
If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, you can contact your local Sexual Health Clinics in Penrith and Katoomba, they remain open for fast, free and confidential testing. The staff are friendly and testing is super quick and easy.
For those who prefer testing at home, there is a new ‘do-it-yourself’ HIV test called the Dried Blood Spot (DBS). It is a FREE, easy and confidential test that you can do yourself. Just order the test online, take a few drops of blood from your finger and return the test by mail in a reply paid envelope. You will get the results in a week by either phone, text or email.
As always, prevention is the key, so talk to your GP or visit your sexual Health Clinic to discuss PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis), PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and have a full sexual health check-up. To make an appointment contact your local clinics in Penrith and Katoomba.
For more details about the home testing kit visit the DBS website.
Remember – HIV Testing has never been easier
