This week saw the inaugural “Together Achieving Better Health” conference being held at Panthers Penrith.
The three day event, hosted by Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, bought together innovators, researchers, healthcare providers and population health experts to look at the future of health and healthcare across Penrith, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Lithgow Local Government Areas. The inspiration for the event was to celebrate local achievements while looking to the future and becoming excited by innovation to improve the patient experience across all local health facilities.
In the spirit of innovation and technology; conference delegates used the breaks to try out the new SiSU wellness machine. SiSU is a 4 minute brief health check which gives an assessment of height, weight, BP, body mass BMI and diabetes risk, providing a preventative tool to identify potential health risks, and make recommendations for follow up where needed.
Over the next 6 months the SiSU wellness machine will be doing the rounds of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District health facilities, so ‘watch this space for locations and dates’.
