What is a Healthy Mind?

No we’re not talking about thinking clean and pure thoughts, or daydreaming about what to do (and with whom)… rather, a healthy mind is one that can understand and manage feelings, see life and the world as mostly positive, and know when to ask for help when the going gets tough.

Connections, Communication, and Relationships

There a loads of things that you can do to help your mind stay healthy, but maintaining a positive attitude is a key strategy. It will help you to bounce back and feel better quicker, especially when life throws some curve balls out of the blue.

Connections and relationships are really important too. Strong connections to family, extended family, friends, school and community help to make you feel like you belong, and that you can trust those around you – really important for playing well and staying safe.

Make sure you have at least one ‘go – to’ person in your world, someone older who has been there and understands what growing up is all about. It may or may not be a parent, but it must be someone who’s opinion you value and trust, and someone who is positive about life.
